The Emerald Memberships

The clubhouse has become the center of activity within the Emerald. It is a place to meet friends and to just relax, socialize and have lunch. The pool is perfect for families and for junior Olympic racing in the center section. The large deck and patio are used for community and private social functions. The sunroom and the club can accommodate a large number of guests inside and lawn space is available for extra large functions requiring tents.

One thing people most appreciate about their club is that it does not have a formal dining room. Most people moving to The Emerald from other clubs are grateful that they do not have a monthly dining minimum to fulfill.

Other club amenities include: excellent golf practice facilities including a driving range, fairway and greenside bunkers, a chipping green and a 11,000-square-foot putting green; full service pro shop; state of the art tennis courts that are screened for wind, well lit at night, and watered from beneath the surface; and a full service deli.

Full Golf Membership: $900 one time initiation fee and $196/month. Includes golf, tennis, swimming, and social events.

Executive Membership: full membership for members under 40 years of age. $900 one time initiation fee and $148/month.

Military Membership: No initiation fee and $148/month.

House Membership: includes swimming and tennis $900 one time initiation fee and $88/month.

What will it cost me to ride 18 holes or 9 holes of golf as a member?
A. $14.50 = 18
B. $9.00 = 9

What discounts can I receive as a member?
A. Cart Book - (50) 18 - Hole rounds are available at $675.00. A savings of $50.00
B. Cart Leases - Single $1,475 includes tax, Couple $1,675 includes tax, and Unlimited $2,075 includes tax (Jan 1 - Dec 31)
C. All members receive a 15% discount on all soft goods at the pro shop.
D. The range plan is single $350, couple $425, and family $475 (Feb 1 - Jan 31)
E. Lessons are available with all of our pros. Series are also available.

What will it cost to have a guest play with me?
The regular Member's Guest rate is $40 (Maximum two times a month) for a Craven County Guest **If a special is being advertised then any Member's Guest will receive the advertised rate, if it's less.

What are the outside guests rates?
A. Weekdays (Mon. - Thurs.) $56.00
B. Weekends (Fri. - Sun. and Holidays) $56.00

What is the walking policy?
Walking is permitted for Members only. Walking times are all day on Tuesday, After 12:30pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and from November 1 to March 15 after 1:30 and March 16 to October 31, after 2:30 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

How far in advance can I make a tee time?
You can make a tee time up to two weeks in advance. Please take full advantage of this privilege.

When does the pool open and close?
The pool opens in mid - May and will close in mid - September. Pool hours will be posted in your newsletter.

Regulations governing resignations (of any type)
A. Can reinstate membership by paying past dues up to a year.
B. After one year a reinstatement fee of $600.00 must be paid to renew membership.
C. After 2 years, 50% of the then current initiation fee must be paid to renew membership.
D. After 3 years, the full initation fee at the time must be paid to become a member.

Welcome to the Emerald Golf Club. Please know that my staff and I want to help you enjoy playing golf at The Emerald.

Our ELGA and our EMGA are active golf associations, and I encourage you to join either as appropriate. The yearly fee is $30.00 for the EMGA and $34.00 for the ELGA. There is a slight additional yearly fee (if you choose) to maintain your playing scores and handicap in our computer system. Come by the Pro Shop and join up or contact Lee Kreidler at 633-6395 for EMGA information or Linda Re at 638-8370 for ELGA information.

The ELGA has a weekly playday (Thursday) with both 9-hole and 18-hole groups with prizes awarded. Also, they have match-play and invitational tournaments, and they play a major role in the Ladies Club Championship Tournament. Also, there are luncheons, award parties, ace-of-the-month, and many other activities.

The EMGA has weekly playdays (Tuesday and Friday) with prizes awarded. There is hole-in-one and closest-to-the-pin prizes, as well as other activities. The EMGA often provides free sandwiches or lunches on playdays. They manage four EMGA tournaments a year and help with The Emerald Cup, Club tournaments and The Senior Club Championship. Also, there is an awards party at the end of the year.
